Hi! My name is Irena. I’m a professional artist and touring musician with over 20 years of experience teaching music and performance. I’m the creator of Little Folkies, a music program for children, and recently released a box set of music on Smithsonian Folkways. I tour internationally with my band Rainy Eyes, and my most recent album was released on Royal Potato Family, charting on the Americana and Folk charts and receiving airplay on SiriusXM and beyond.

My band has performed at multiple renowned festivals, such as New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Festival International and many more.

I work with students of all ages and experience levels, offering supportive, inspiring lessons that balance strong musical foundations with creativity and self-expression.

My teaching approach focuses on:

• Encouraging each student’s unique and authentic artistic voice

Lessons are fun, playful, and hands-on—we’ll be making music right away. I’ll help you learn your favorite songs on voice, guitar, and piano, while guiding you toward finding your own unique, authentic voice.
